ReMitts is now Pantry Partners of Dane County!

Since 2009, ReMitts volunteers have made warm, colorful mittens from discarded wool sweaters. With the help of community partners like you, we've helped the food pantries feed thousands of hungry people in Dane County.

For several years, we've been challenged to find wool sweaters to upcycle. Fewer clothing manufacturers are making 100% wool sweaters, and recently, our long-term source for fleece for lining the mittens went out of business.

Because of these developments, we are changing our operations. We will no longer ask for display space in local businesses. Instead, we will donate the remaining mittens and dryer balls (made from leftover wool) to the food pantries - St. Vincent de Paul, WayForward Resources, and The River Food Pantry - for their fundraising.

We are exploring alternative ways to support the food pantries with new products or services. Our new name, Pantry Partners of Dane County, reflects our mission. In the meantime, we will continue to make mittens and dryer balls as long as we can find materials.
