Where to Find Us
ReMitts mittens are available in November and December at various locations in Dane County. The mittens are available for a suggested donation of $40 per pair; 100 percent of proceeds go directly to three food pantries: St. Vincent de Paul, WayForward Resources, and the River Food Pantry

Donations may be delivered to Grace Lutheran Church, 1 S. Rosa Road, Madison, on Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Note we are closed the Tuesday after Christmas. Alternatively, donations may be dropped off at the administrative office of WayForward Resources, 3502 Parmenter St., Middleton, or The River Food Pantry, 2201 Darwin Road, Madison, during office hours. Please mark "ReMitts." If you are shipping donations, please email remittsmittens@gmail.com.
You can support ReMitts' efforts to feed hungry people in a variety of ways. Donations of the following are welcome:
- Wool sweaters: must be 100 percent wool
- New polar fleece: stretchy type; any color
- Buttons: all colors, shapes and sizes
- Thread: all colors
- Monetary donations: for supplies

The Process
How ReMitts turns wool sweaters into mittens
Wool sweaters are donated by Madison-area thrift stores and ReMitts' supporters.
Volunteers launder the sweaters in hot water and dry them in hot dryers, causing the sweaters to shrink or “felt.”
Pattern pieces are cut from the felted wool, combining complementary colors and designs.
Women's mittens are embellished with buttons, which are also donated.
